A brief literature review to identify and classify areas of nanotechnology that are currently in the process of formation. It is noted that, a single coherent alternative that would form the basis for constructing classifications, does not exist yet. Identified seven key areas ofnanotechnology: nanomaterials, nanoelectronics, nanophotonics, nanobiotechnology, nanomedicine, nanoinstrumenty (nanodiagnostics), technologyand special equipment for the creation and production of nanomaterials and nanodevicesReferences
